About Danita

Background

A good part of my career was spent working in various administrative roles, supporting directors and managers. When the internet started to become popular in the 90’s, I jumped right on board and got very excited about its potential and developed broad skills related to web design, web content management and writing for the web.

This allowed me to grow in my career, and while I was working for a large government organization, I moved into IT supported web functions and project managed large scale website projects, developed cross functional standards and created style guides.

How I came to be a Virtual Assistant

I left a corporate job of 15 years to move with my husband and daughter to Chicago (he was relocated) and I landed a part-time position assisting a small business owner. Most of the work was done virtually and involved interacting with people in different cities, states and even a different country. I loved that we could work seamlessly across borders and time zones and I found working from my home office very productive and enjoyable.

My experience assisting small business owners – virtually and in person – as well as managing projects and project staff virtually, has been very rewarding. Being able to offer my diverse skills and work with terrific business owners one-on-one, as their Virtual Assistant, is just the perfect fit for me. I love seeing people empowered by their own greatness and witnessing them attain their goals. I get great satisfaction in giving my clients my very best every day.

Style

I’m naturally service-oriented. I believe in open, honest, and collaborative communication and operate with the utmost professionalism, ethics and integrity. I love meeting new people and am described as friendly and personable.

I tend to be straighforward, and prefer you do the same, but will always do so with kindness and respect. I believe humor is good medicine.

I’m creative, project-oriented, resourceful and have great people skills. I’m good at seeing possibilities, great at organizing, love variety and am bright and capable.

My wide-ranging life experiences have allowed me to easily adapt to new situations and embrace and manage change successfully.

Education

I value education, have a diploma in Microcomputer Business Applications and have taken many college level courses over the years in web design and development, graphics, and project management.

I trained with and graduated from the prestigious AssistU Virtual Mentoring Program for virtual assistants and am an active member of the AssistU community.

I consider myself a lifelong learner, enjoy taking on new challenges and am adept at quickly getting up to speed on new technologies and keeping current in my field. Since becoming a VA I’ve learned several new technologies and have taken a variety of courses such as Product Launch, Infusionsoft, Webinar Mastery and more.

“Danita is fantastic! Not only are her design skills amazing, but she’s also incredibly professional and goes the extra mile. I asked her to edit some images for my website for me, and make them look beautiful. She took the time to find out exactly what I wanted, and then delivered. Not only was it even sooner than I’d asked, but she even did a bonus image for me. THEN she checked them on my site and sent me an update when she found a mistake! I’m a huge fan of Danita as a VA and will definitely be using her services again!! Thank you so much for all your help!” ~ AS

Personally speaking

When I’m not managing my business, I like to spend time with my husband, daughter and granddaughter.

For the most part, I live a holistic lifestyle. (My daugther calls me a hippie) We have crystals and oils all over the house. I also help run a side crystal jewerly business with my husband.

I enjoy being in nature and traveling. I love road trips and have visited 33 US states and 7 Canadian provinces so far.

I believe in giving back and have held numerous volunteer roles over the years. I love creative pursuits.
