About Danita

DanitaBackground

A good part of my career was spent working in various administrative roles, supporting directors and managers. When the internet started to become popular in the 90's, I jumped right on board and got very excited about its potential and developed broad skills related to web design, web content management and writing for the web.

This allowed me to grow in my career, and while I was working for a large government organization, I moved into IT supported web functions and project managed large scale website projects, developed cross functional standards and created style guides.

How I came to be a Virtual Assistant

I left a corporate job of 15 years to move with my husband and daughter to Chicago (he was relocated) and I landed a part-time position assisting a small business owner. Most of the work was done virtually and involved interacting with people in different cities, states and even a different country. I loved that we could work seamlessly across borders and time zones and I found working from my home office very productive and enjoyable.

My experience assisting small business owners – virtually and in person – as well as managing projects and project staff virtually, has been very rewarding. Being able to offer my diverse skills and work with terrific business owners one-on-one, as their Virtual Assistant, is just the perfect fit for me. I love seeing people empowered by their own greatness and witnessing them attain their goals. I get great satisfaction in giving my clients my very best every day.

Style

I'm naturally service-oriented. I believe in open, honest, and collaborative communication and operate with the utmost professionalism, ethics and integrity. I love meeting new people and am described as friendly and personable.

I tend to be straighforward, and prefer you do the same, but will always do so with kindness and respect. I believe humor is good medicine.

I'm creative, project-oriented, resourceful and have great people skills. I'm good at seeing possibilities, great at organizing, love variety and am bright and capable.

My wide-ranging life experiences have allowed me to easily adapt to new situations and embrace and manage change successfully.

Education

I value education, have a diploma in Microcomputer Business Applications and have taken many college level courses over the years in web design and development, graphics, and project management.

I trained with and graduated from the prestigious AssistU Virtual Mentoring Program for virtual assistants and am an active member of the AssistU community.

I consider myself a lifelong learner, enjoy taking on new challenges and am adept at quickly getting up to speed on new technologies and keeping current in my field. Since becoming a VA I've learned several new technologies and have taken a variety of courses such as Product Launch, Infusionsoft, Webinar Mastery and more.

Personally speaking

When I'm not managing my business, I like to spend time with my husband as well as with my daughter and her fiance. For the most part, I live a holistic lifestyle. I enjoy being in nature and traveling. I love road trips and have visited 30 US states and 7 Canadian provinces so far. I believe in giving back and have held numerous volunteer roles over the years. I love creative pursuits and oftentimes you can find me playing in Photoshop or with my DSLR camera.

What others say about me

"I worked with Danita Currie for approximately 12 years and can attest to her dedication and commitment to excellence. She has superior project management skills and always ensures her work is of the highest quality. Danita is results oriented with a constant curiosity and openness to learning new information, skills and approaches. Any one fortunate enough to work with Danita will enjoy her personable nature and great sense of humour." ~ RB

"It was such a pleasure to work with Danita and I especially appreciated her sharp attention to detail and collaborative nature. I found that she picked up new tools with ease and that the tasks that I gave her were always completed in a professional manner. I greatly appreciate the support she provided to my business; it was a relief having someone take care of managing my social media, handling research assignments and managing/updating my website. Her assistance with email campaigns/drip marketing was invaluable and her design skills are impressive. I love that Danita can not only perform administrative tasks, but she also has the technical knowledge to switch gears and work on graphics and web work - a talent few VAs possess. I highly recommend Danita to anyone who needs a full time multi-faceted VA!" ~ GB

"Danita is fantastic! Not only are her design skills amazing, but she's also incredibly professional and goes the extra mile. I asked her to edit some images for my website for me, and make them look beautiful. She took the time to find out exactly what I wanted, and then delivered. Not only was it even sooner than I'd asked, but she even did a bonus image for me. THEN she checked them on my site and sent me an update when she found a mistake! I'm a huge fan of Danita as a VA and will definitely be using her services again!! Thank you so much for all your help!" ~ AS

"Danita, thank you for everything. I really do feel that you have always gone the extra distance for me and it is much appreciated!" ~ MW

"Before working with Danita, I had a clear idea of the feeling I wanted to create with my logo, but no tools or specific steps to make that idea into a reality. Because of this, my web site, and all of my marketing materials were inconsistent at best and, at worst, stuck. After working with Danita in a very open and pleasant communication process, I have a new logo that my clients and I absolutely love. My logo is the cornerstone of my new brand, and at the heart of my dream business. Thank you, Danita!" ~ ES
